Krista Long, L.I.S.W.
Hello! I am a therapist specializing in women’s issues. Relationships (marriage, divorce, dating, family), stage of life adjustments, anxiety, infertility, depression, parenting, and grief are challenges I commonly help with. I have more than twenty years experience helping good people with difficult problems find a pathway forward, think more clearly, take steps to make their lives and relationships better, and increase overall calm and contentment.
Therapy with Krista - What to Expect:
The first one to three sessions will involve an assessment in which your personal history, family history, and history of the problem is explored. Your own thinking about the problem will be thoroughly explored as well, and we will begin to formulate a plan for addressing the problem and moving forward. For the first several appointments, it is suggested you come once per week, and then less frequently. Eventually, you may come in once a month or two to follow up on on-going efforts to address the problem and make changes.
Many people experience relief of the immediate problem within six to ten sessions. Others will want to continue therapy to address underlying contributing factors, such as relationship patterns in their family of origin, in order to deepen and sustain the changes.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How long will my therapy session last? Usually 55 minutes. The first session may take just a bit longer.
What if my partner refuses to participate? An individual can come on their own to work on a relationship problem. Any motivated person who is willing to take the lead can impact change in the relationship.
What if I think I need to be on a psychiatric medicine? I am not licensed to prescribe medicine. When we meet, we will discuss your thinking about medicine and your options.
What is my next step? Email me! I will respond at my earliest opportunity, usually within 24 hours, and we can set up a time for your first appointment. I look forward to hearing from you!,
